random great wednesday in rio!

WHOA look at this crazy-ness! another post after only 3 days! but its not too long and is funny, so im gonna post it so that I dont forget it, etc.
Last night me and two friends went to the "best mexican food restaurant in rio" called Guapo Loco. It was actually quite good with good food and nice pitchers of margaritas. So, we´re sitting there talking and two people come up to us and end up being american tourists looking for a bar to go to, and we told them its way too early (it was about 8:30) and that no bars would be active right now. so that was that. then a few minutes later, this guy across the aisle from us asks us in english where we are from. and we tell him we live in rio studying abroad etc etc. 2 seconds later I find out he is a Stanford grad student and just moved to rio teaching at the american school! so crazy and such a small world. later we met up with other friends at this great bar devassa where they brew their own beer and that was nice and fun. anyways, it was an excellent wednesday night that i felt like recounting.

lessons learned: (1) there are a lot of americans in rio. (2) americans are somehow all connected. (3) wednesday is a perfectly acceptable day of the week to go out on.

HAPPY beginning of the weekend all!

these blog-within-a-blog posts are so hard to keep track of. wtf christopher. do you post in other blogs too?

i'm glad you found shelter, though. how do you know the omaha man isn't stalking you? maybe he followed you to spain.

silly stacey, chris only posts in my blog haha (i think?!). it was some plan that i forget where it originated, but the plan was for chris to blog about his travels within my travel blog once he got computer access)

chris! my view is that bars are okay alone as long as you sit at the bar, and not the table, cuz the bar is a social place. i suggest you adopt that so that you arent afraid to go to bars alone. however, your museum adventures sound lovely and its excellent to know you are soaking up viking history.how much norweigan do you speak? post some more about the camino now. that neeeds many posts so you better start!

haha the "lets just speak english" is sooo annoying! its like: hello! im hear to learn your language! let me tryyyy!

ps. sad sad stories about the sweaters. i bet they did think they were dangerous! but the sweaters sounded sooo nice. sad. perhaps you should return to oslo to buy more?

ps. tell me an interesting viking fact

haha fair enough.

chris, i did not even know that the munch museum existed (i know.... so culturally informed...) until this morning, when i read that they'd found the Scream and Madonna! so crazy. they're being very secretive about where and how they found the paintings, but if you can somehow figure it out - ...you know... using those norwegian skills of yours - do tell. busting crimes = so cool.

have fun you two,
