Arica, Valdivia, and PUPPIES

Hi All,
Long time no blog. Sorry it has been so long but life has been rather crazy and very busy here in Chile.
So, here is a brieft but thorough recap on life in Chile.

First, I went to the northernmost town in Chile, called Arica a few weeks ago. My host sister Catalina was up there, and all of the mom's side of the family lives up there, So i went up there for a few days to the beach, to see some geoglyphs in a valley, saw some hari krishnas, went to the beach a lot, went to peru for a day, and saw some buildings made by Eiffel.

Here are some pics: (I also just realized that all of my pics of the geoglyphs and hari kirshnahs are on my other camera and I forgot to load them, but I will load them soon)

This is a Church that was designed and built by Eiffel in Paris, and then shipped to Arica and put together in pieces
Also, the Old Customs House designed by Eiffel.

The week after I went to Arica, I went on the Bing Trip, to Valdivia. Valdivia is a german colony/city in the south of Chile. It was completely destroyed by an earthquake and Tsunami in the 70s, and has been rebuilt since then. Its a small and charming town, known for beer, incredible chocolate and a festival on the river which we were there for. Here are a few pictures from Valdivia.
We went to a Brewery of famous German beer in Valdivia called Kunstmann.
Here is lesley and I with the Beer Banner.

This is me at a fort in Niebla, a place that used to stop pirates from entering Valdivia. Notice the Light House behind me.
Valdivia has lots of Sea Lions.
This one was kind of Grumpy.
At the festival, lots of people throw confetti. Here are some of my friends who were doused with confetti by strangers

One of the nicest floats with the Festival's princesses in a clam shell.
Just a teeny portion of all the people at the festival.
Fireworks!

So the biggest new news is that we got TWO new PUPPIES on Thursday. They are both Mutts and sisters. The black one is a tiny runt named Princessa, and here eyes are really far apart so we also call her the alien. The amber colored one is named Amber, and is pretty big. She's quite beautiful. Here are some new pics of the babies!
This is Amber!

The two girls playing. They like to wrestle.
This is Princessa, the alien. Her eyes are pretty far apart arent they? But she is still super cute, fits in the palm of my hand, and has a little white patch on her chest.
The size of Princessa compared to a yarn bone.
The two veteran dogs of the house. They dont like the new puppies. At all.

I forgot to post it previously, but we went to a vineyard and on a wine train near the beginning of the quarter. Here are some pics from that!
